Last thing watched / read / listened to / seen:

Hawaii Five-O

How was it?

I LOVED IT

Brands on the Street:

  • Apple
  • Barbour Jacket
  • Hunter Boots
  • Mulberry Wallet
  • J McLaughlin Shirt

all of those, without even looking!

Why these brands?

I am passionate about my shirt, I love the bright prints. It is by J McLaughin, they have a store in Palo Alto. Their clothes are bright and easy to pack–they are good for business casual wear.

Are you aware of any “shared value” imparted by these brands?

You know, I don’t know if Hunter or Barbour do it. Those would be the brands that would [offer shared value]. I feel like they are focused more towards CSR, millennials…I feel like they know they would drive more consumers that way.

Did shared value drive these purchasing decisions in any way?

No. I used them because they are the best quality and Hunter because they use the best waterproofing.

Would you switch to a brand that was just as good but that offered more shared value?

If the price and quality were the same I might switch. If the one that had the social mission was a higher price, I would still pay the lower price.

Aside from purchasing decisions, is there any way you personally try to do good in the world?

That is so funny you asked, I made a donation last night!
