Brands on the Street:

  • J Brand Jeans
  • Tom’s Shoes
  • Chanel Watch

Why these brands?

Well, I don’t feel passion for any of these brands per se, but one brand I feel strongly about is Nordstrom. When I think of Nordstrom I feel…happy.

Are you aware of any “shared value” imparted by these brands?

Tom’s

Did shared value drive these purchasing decisions in any way?

No. I was aware of the shared value of Tom’s shoes but it was not part of this purchasing decision. For me, the first pair of Tom’s…that was added value but I first had to make sure I liked the shoe.

Would you switch to a brand that was just as good but that offered more shared value?

I will gravitate towards those brands [shared value] but I have to make sure that I actually use what I buy. I am not going to buy something just because of the shared value.

Aside from purchasing decisions, is there any way you personally try to do good in the world?

no, not currently
