Brands on the Street:

  • Louis Vuitton
  • Express
  • Michele watch
  • Prada wallet

Why these brands?

I love all of those brands. I identify with them. They meet my tastes and preferences at their various price points.

Impact on Society

  • Louis Vuitton: probably negative
  • Prada wallet: I don’t know, but probably neutral to negative. I don’t see the high-end designers doing that much good for the world.

Are you aware of any “shared value” imparted by these brands?

Not by the brands that I am wearing, but I do work with Tom’s Shoes.

Does shared value drive any other of your purchasing decisions?

I think so, I really do but that message of giving and gifting has to come through much stronger. A lot of times brands start off as more of a grassroots movement and then over time they lose some of that. Especially in the case of Warby Parker, even Tom’s Shoes for that matter. I remember when they came out it was so trendy and everyone was wearing them but over time they lost that message. I think that brands really have to “keep it up” along the way” and not lose their message as they grow.

Aside from purchasing decisions, is there any way you personally try to do good in the world?

I would love to but I feel like I haven’t found organizations that I am passionate about. I feel like I am on a quest though.
