Why?

I was into that show when I was younger and they were the first ones. Now the girls are grown up and with their kids. It’s mindless entertainment. I watch it when I get home from work. I don’t have to think too much.

What is your major source of news?

I like the Huffington Post

What brands do you have on you right now?

I work for Old Navy corporate but I don’t wear it. I never really shopped there before. Then I got a job there, but I still don’t shop there even though I get 50% off. It just doesn’t last very long. The clothing isn’t the best quality. It’s so cheap.

What about other brands?

I’m not huge into brands. I go to Marshalls and Ross and try to save money.

What were the other brands you have on you?

I got these new Nikes on sale in Santa Cruz.

We’re talking about brands with shared values, brands that give back

Yeah? I just bought glasses from Warby Parker.

So you know about what they do?

After I bought them, someone told me they do the give-back service. And the experience was amazing. I’m really glad that there’s such a cool company.  The way they’re set up is great.

Would you say the shared value component has an impact on you buying from them again?

Yeah, absolutely. If you’re getting a great experience and you’re also contributing something to a greater cause and you feel like you’re getting a good value at the same time it’s awesome.

Do you belong to any charitable organizations?

No, I don’t think I do.

BotS Insight:  In her purchasing decisions, Whitney is most conscious of cost and style. Shared value is icing on the cake.
